Becky has spent her entire career cooking and baking, which are also her favorite hobbies outside of work. For her, time spent in the kitchen not only relieves stress, but is lots of fun as well. Becky’s love for baking began as a child, standing on a chair next her mom, adding ingredients and mixing up dough.
Braised beef and onion blended with spicy hoisin sauce and red wine make a delicious dinner for the family.
Heat oven to 325°F. Melt butter in 6-quart ovenproof covered saucepan or Dutch oven until sizzling; add beef. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until browned (5 to 8 minutes). Add onions, wine and hoisin sauce. Cover; bake 45 minutes.
Stir flour into tomato sauce in small bowl. Add carrots and tomato sauce mixture to beef mixture. Continue baking, covered, for 45 minutes or until meat and vegetables are tender. Serve over hot cooked spaetzle.

Our family LOVED this recipe. I used a sirloin steak instead of a chuck roast...I am pretty sure any cut of beef would work, it becomes so tender after cooking. I also used beef broth and added some potatoes.
The sauce was too sweet for my family
This was so good. I added extra wine because I wanted more sauce and it turned out so flavorful. I served this with red potato's because I had them in the house but rice, or noodles of any kind will work great. I will make this again and again.
