1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Combine sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon in bowl. Stir in whipping cream, half & half and vanilla. Cover; refrigerate 1-2 hours or overnight.

Pour into 1-quart ice cream freezer. Freeze 20-30 minutes or according to manufacturer's directions.

Recipe Tip

- A fanciful New England cookie, the snickerdoodle is delicately flavored with a sugar-cinnamon top. Similiar versions contain the same spices, but may also have nuts or raisins. We patterned this recipe after the purist's version, without the raisins or nuts.

- Double the ingredients in the recipe if using a 2-quart ice cream freezer.

Recipe Comments & Reviews

I am a huge snickerdoodle fan so i had to try this recipe. I am from the south so I was interested in trying an ice cream recipe that did not require eggs. The snickerdoodle taste was there but very "weak". Also the ice cream its self was not thick and creamy as I am used to but very watered down. I will try it again adding egg to give the ice cream some texture and volume next time.
Excellent flavor. Tastes just like the cookie. My husband loved it. Will definitely make again.
This ice cream was so easy to make and a big hit with my family! Wonderful flavor and texture!
Wonderful! Love the subtle taste of cinnamon.
