A Note from the Test Kitchens: Simply Sharing 2015

Every year, the Test Kitchen creates new holiday recipes for home bakers to make and enjoy throughout the holiday season. The themes have ranged from bite-sized treats to 25 years of baking to wrapping up the holidays. When we sat down as a team to brainstorm what we wanted our theme to be this year, Christmas cookies seemed to be the most obvious, and tasty, choice.

There aren’t very many things that encompass this time of year more than baking cookies. It’s not just the final product that makes them so appealing, it’s the act of making them and sharing them with the people around you. When you teach your child how to bake the chocolate crinkle cookie you remember making with your grandma, it brings a warmth to your heart and home that can’t be replicated. That’s what we wanted to invoke with our recipes.

Cookies are for sharing. Sharing as a gift. Sharing traditions. Sharing your time. We want you to make these recipes with your kids. Or invite your friends over and share a laugh while decorating cookies. Or take a batch to share with your neighbor or local nursing home.
