QI would like some easy spring dessert recipes for company using Land O Lakes® Butter. I love the taste of Land O Lakes.
Thank you, Sharon, for the compliment. I truly love the flavor of our butter, too, and feel so fortunate to have a job developing recipes to share it with
people like you. One of my favorite things about Land O Lakes® Butter is how it makes baked
goods rich and tender. And I especially love the way it complements the bright, citrusy flavors of spring.
When I bake for company, I don't feel like I need to go over-the-top or create intricate works of pastry art. I usually like to just let simple flavors
shine, like they do in this Glazed Lemon Pound Cake. A classic pound cake was
made with a pound of butter, a pound of sugar a pound of eggs and pound of flour. That is a very rich cake! Modern recipes like ours go a little lighter on
the eggs and butter, but without sacrificing any flavor at all.
Another spring-y, buttery dessert I love is a big batch of Key Lime Bars. Like the pound
cake, they've got a citrusy zing to them that goes so well with our butter. Key limes are smaller and have a stronger flavor than the usual varieties of
grocery store limes. If you can't find them or want to save yourself the trouble of juicing several tiny little limes, you can usually find bottle key lime
juice in your grocery store.
If you want to add a bright, pretty touch to your spring baked goods, definitely try our Polka Dot Cupcakes. It's easy to make the fun polka dot pattern on top to impress
your guests. And, of course, we fill them with a tangy cream cheese and lime filling, because we just can't get enough of those bright spring flavors.
