Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds
*Land O Lakes® Shredded Pasteurized Process American Cheese - Yellow
1 quart
Milk
2 cups
Beer
1/4 teaspoon
Coarsely ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon
Garlic powder
1/2 cup
Milk
1/4 cup
Cornstarch
1 3/4 pounds
Frozen broccoli, thawed, drained, chopped
drained
 
*Can substitute LAND O LAKES® Extra Melt® Cheese, LAND O LAKES® Sharp Cheddar American, Quesotuyo® American Cheese or Hilldale® Cheese

Directions

  1. In large stockpot, combine American cheese, milk, beer, pepper and garlic powder.  Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until cheese is completely melted.
  2. Whisk together 1/2 cup milk and cornstarch; stir into hot soup. Continue cooking,stirring occasionally, until soup thickens and comes to a boil. Stir in broccoli. Continue cooking until heated through.
