Country Ribs & Barbecue Sauce

Get started!

Ingredients

Sauce

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 small (1/2 cup) onion, chopped

1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce

1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter

1/4 cup lemon juice

1 (28-ounce) bottle ketchup

1 (6-ounce) jar prepared mustard

2 tablespoons vinegar

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Ribs

6 pounds country-style pork ribs

6 cups water

How to make

  1. STEP 1

Combine all sauce ingredients in 3-quart saucepan. Cover; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 10-15 minutes or until sauce comes to a full boil. Reduce heat to low. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, 1-1 1/2 hours or until sauce is thickened and flavors are blended. Strain sauce, if desired.

  2. STEP 2

Meanwhile, place ribs in 4-quart saucepan; add water. Cover; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 25-30 minutes or until water comes to a full boil. Reduce heat to low. Cook 30-35 minutes or until ribs are fork tender. Drain; pat dry.

  3. STEP 3

Heat 1 side of gas grill on medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white. Place coals to 1 side in charcoal grill. Make aluminum foil drip pan; place opposite coals.

  4. STEP 4

Place ribs onto grill over drip pan. Grill, turning occasionally and brushing with sauce, 25-30 minutes or until desired doneness. Serve with additional warm sauce.

Tip #1

Ribs are precooked to shorten grilling time.
