Ingredients

Cookie

1 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup sugar

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

 

Sugar

30 wooden craft or lollipop sticks

Frosting

2 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

3 to 4 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Half & Half

Food color, if desired

Decorations

Decorator candies or sugars, if desired

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 375°F.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine 1 cup butter, brown sugar and 1/2 cup sugar in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add egg and vanilla; continue beating until well mixed. Add flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and cinnamon; beat at low speed until dough forms a ball.

  3. STEP 3

    Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Place 3 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten each to about 2 inches wide with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Insert craft stick to center of each cookie. Bake 7-9 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Let stand 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to cooling rack. Cool completely.

  4. STEP 4

    Combine powdered sugar and 1/4 cup butter in bowl. Beat at medium speed, gradually adding enough half & half for desired spreading consistency. Tint with food color, if desired. Frost cookies; top with decorator candies or sprinkle with decorator sugars, if desired.
