Sausage Lasagna

Ingredients
Meat Sauce
2 (12-ounces) packages bulk pork sausage

2 cup) onion, chopped1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (12-ounce) can tomato paste
2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
1
2 teaspoon salt1
2 teaspoon garlic powder1
4 teaspoon pepperFilling
2 (12-ounce) cartons (3 cups) small curd cottage cheese
2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
9 uncooked dried lasagna noodles, cooked, drained
10 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Provolone Cheese, cut in half

STEP 1
Heat oven to 350° F.

Cook sausage and onion in 12-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sausage is browned. Drain. Add all remaining meat sauce ingredients.

Combine cottage cheese, egg and parsley in bowl. Spread 1 3/4 cups meat mixture into 13x9-inch greased baking pan. Layer with 3 lasagna noodles, 1 cup cottage cheese mixture and 6 pieces provolone cheese. Repeat layers, placing remaining provolone cheese on top layer; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Bake 55-65 minutes or until cheese is lightly browned and lasagna is heated through. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
Tip #1
- Pork sausage can also be purchased in links or rings. Remove casings before browning the sausage.

- To make ahead and bake later, prepare lasagna as directed above. Cover; refrigerate up to 2 days. Heat oven to 350°F. Uncover; bake 60-70 minutes or until lasagna is heated through.

- To make ahead and freeze for later, prepare as directed above. Cover with aluminum foil; freeze. To bake, remove from freezer; refrigerate for at least 24 hours or until lasagna is thawed. Heat oven to 350°F. Uncover; bake 60-70 minutes or until lasagna is heated through.
