Ingredients

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, melted

1/2 cup full-fat sour cream

2 large Land O Lakes® Eggs

1 tablespoon clear vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

2 tablespoons rainbow sprinkles

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom of 9-inch round baking pan with nonstick baking spray.

  2. STEP 2

    Whisk together sugar, melted butter, sour cream, eggs, vanilla and salt in large bowl until smooth. Add flour and baking powder; whisk 30-45 seconds or until smooth, scraping down side of bowl halfway through. Fold in 1 tablespoon sprinkles. Spread batter into prepared pan. Scatter remaining 1 tablespoon sprinkles over smoothed batter.

  3. STEP 3

    Bake 22-27 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Store covered at room temperature up to 3 days.

Tip #1

For a more "authentic" birthday cake flavor, use artificial vanilla flavor instead of pure vanilla extract.
