Chile Burgers with Corn Salsa

Ingredients

Burgers

1 pound extra-lean ground beef

1 (4-ounce) can chopped green chiles&, drained

1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder

Corn Salsa

1 1/2 cups frozen whole kernel corn, thawed

1/2 cup finely chopped jicama

1/2 cup thick and chunky salsa

1/3 cup finely chopped red onion

1 tablespoon sugar

2 tablespoons cider vinegar

4 (10-inch) flour tortillas, warmed

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Prepare grill; heat until coals are ash white.

  2. STEP 2

    Mix ground beef, 2 tablespoons green chiles and chili powder in bowl. Form into 4 (5-inch) oblong patties.

  3. STEP 3

    Place patties onto grill. Grill, turning once, 8-10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches at least 160°F and meat is no longer pink in center.

  4. STEP 4

    Combine remaining green chiles, corn, jicama, salsa, onion, sugar and vinegar in bowl.

  5. STEP 5

    Place 1 burger in center of each tortilla; top with 1/4 cup salsa. Fold opposite edges of tortilla toward center over burger. Fold open end of tortilla toward opposite edge. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Serve with sour cream and remaining salsa.
