Cranberry Apple Filled Bars

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup uncooked quick cooking oats

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup cold Land O Lakes® Butter, cut into chunks


1 cup sweetened dried cranberries

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup cranberry-apple juice

2 medium (2 1/2 cups) apples, peeled, cored, chopped

2 tablespoons orange marmalade

1 teaspoon cornstarch

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 350°F.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine flour, oats, brown sugar and baking soda in bowl; cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. STEP 3

    Press two-thirds crust mixture evenly onto bottom of lightly greased 11x7-inch glass baking dish. Bake 10-15 minutes or until puffed.

  4. STEP 4

    Combine cranberries, sugar, cranberry-apple juice and apples in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 5-6 minutes or until mixture is thickened.

  5. STEP 5

    Stir together orange marmalade and cornstarch in bowl. Gradually stir into hot fruit mixture. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, 1-2 minutes or until mixture boils and is thickened.

  6. STEP 6

    Spread fruit mixture over hot, partially baked crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Bake 22-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
