1 pound uncooked dried fettuccine pasta

1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter

2 cups Land O Lakes® Heavy Whipping Cream

1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1/16 teaspoon ground nutmeg

3 ounces (3/4 cup) Land O Lakes® Aged Italian Blend Fine Cut Shredded Cheese, plus more for serving

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Cook fettuccine according to package directions. Drain; set aside.

  2. STEP 2

    Meanwhile, melt butter in large skillet over medium-low heat. Add cream, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Simmer, stirring frequently, 5 minutes or until mixture thickens slightly. Add 3 ounces cheese; cook, stirring, 3 minutes or until cheese is incorporated.

  3. STEP 3

    Add drained pasta to sauce, turning with tongs to coat. Season to taste with additional salt and pepper, as desired. Serve with extra cheese on the side.

Tip #1

If you love garlic, add 2 teaspoons minced garlic to the melted butter, then proceed with the recipe as written.

Tip #2

For another meal option, try adding cooked chicken, shrimp or your favorite vegetable to the sauce before tossing in the pasta.
