Chili Crisp-Honey Marinated Cheese

Get started!

Ingredients

1 cup extra-virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons chili crisp

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon chopped green onion

2 teaspoons freshly grated lime zest

2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh basil

2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh mint

1 teaspoon garlic salt

1 (8-ounce) bag Land O Lakes® Gouda & Havarti Cheese Cubes

*Substitute Land O Lakes® Sharp White and Medium Cheddar Cheese Cubes.

How to make

  1. STEP 1

Combine all ingredients except cheese in 4-cup glass measure or straight-sided jar. Add cheese cubes; fully submerge contents in oil to prevent early spoilage. Let cheese marinate at least 6 hours or up to 5 days before serving.

  2. STEP 2

Let stand at least 1 hour to come to room temperature before serving. Drain excess oil as desired to serve; reserve any drained oil for storage. Mixture may be stored refrigerated up to 5 days.

Tip #1

Chili crisp is a bold, oil-based condiment with Chinese origins. It’s made by frying chiles, Sichuan peppercorns, garlic, scallions, and spices until crispy and aromatic. The result is a spicy, crunchy topping that adds heat and texture to everything from noodles to eggs. Look for it alongside other Asian foods in your grocery store.
