Angel Hair Pasta With Basil & Tomatoes

Fresh basil and garlic bring out the Italian flavors in this simple, low-sodium, quick-cooking dish.

Ingredients

4 ounces uncooked dried angel hair pasta (capellini) , broken in half

1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh garlic

6 medium Roma tomatoes, coarsely chopped

1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter with Canola Oil

Freshly shredded Parmesan cheese, if desired

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain. Keep warm.

  2. STEP 2

    Place garlic into 10-inch nonstick skillet. Cook over medium heat 1 minute. Add tomatoes and basil. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, 1-2 minutes or until heated through.

  3. STEP 3

    Toss together hot pasta, tomato mixture and Butter with Canola Oil in serving bowl. Sprinkle with cheese, if desired.

Tip #1

Your favorite pasta can be substituted for angel hair pasta.

We did cherry tomatoes instead of Roma and added sliced black olives. It was wonderful and my kids couldn't get enough!! So much better than their normal favorite of just pasta with butter.
