Learn How it Works...
4 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup milk
2 large Land O Lakes® Eggs
4 slices crisply cooked bacon , crumbled
1/4 cup maple-flavored syrup
1 medium (1 cup) apple, peeled, quartered, sliced
2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Powdered sugar
STEP 1
Place 2 tablespoons butter into 9-inch ceramic pie plate or metal pie pan; place in oven 4-5 minutes or until melted and pie plate is hot. Spread melted butter over bottom of pie plate.
STEP 2
Combine flour, milk and eggs in bowl; beat with whisk until well mixed. Carefully pour batter into hot pie plate; sprinkle with bacon. Bake 14-17 minutes or until puffed and light golden brown.
STEP 3
Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter in small nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add maple syrup, apple, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cook, stirring occasionally, 4-5 minutes or until apple is tender; keep warm.
STEP 4
Heat oven to 425°F.
STEP 5
Spoon apple mixture over puffed pancake; sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve immediately.
- For more intense apple flavor, use applewood smoked bacon. It can be found in the bacon section of the supermarket.
- Cook bacon ahead of time; crumble. Refrigerate or freeze in resealable plastic food storage bag.
