Ingredients

1/3 cup
firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon
ground allspice
1/2 pound (6 to 8 slices)
bacon, cut in half

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Line 15x10x1-inch baking pan with kitchen parchment paper.
  2. Combine brown sugar and allspice in bowl. Coat bacon slices with brown sugar mixture.
  3. Place coated bacon onto prepared pan. Bake 14-16 minutes or until crisp.
  4. Place cooked bacon on clean parchment paper; let stand until slightly cooled. Serve warm or at room temperature.

We make this recipe on our Big Green Egg ceramic smoker/grill as a snack. But we add some cayenne for kick, and pecan pieces for variety. Then we cut the cooked strips into bite-size pieces for serving. They don't last long.
