Baklava Mini Bites

1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter

1/2 cup honey

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 cups chopped walnuts

1 cup raisins

5 (18x14-inch) sheets frozen phyllo dough, thawed


1 tablespoon Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1 tablespoon honey

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Combine all glaze ingredients; brush over top of dough. Cut into 1-inch slices with sharp knife. Repeat with remaining phyllo dough.

  2. STEP 2

    Melt 1/2 cup butter in 1-quart saucepan. Stir in 1/2 cup honey, lemon juice and cinnamon. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 18-20 minutes or until mixture is thickened. Remove from heat.

  3. STEP 3

    Combine thickened honey mixture, walnuts and raisins in small bowl; mix well. Cool 1 hour to room temperature.

  4. STEP 4

    Heat oven to 350°F. 

  5. STEP 5

     Cut phyllo sheets in half crosswise (14x9-inch rectangle). Place 1 1/2 cups filling on end of each phyllo rectangle. Roll up, starting at long (14-inch)edge.  

  6. STEP 6

    Place baklava slices onto ungreased baking sheet, cut-side down. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Let stand 1-2 minutes; remove from baking sheet. Serve warm or cool.

We loved this recipe, it's just scrumptious! The second time I made it I did do one t hing slightly differently: I sprinkled the filling over the phyllo sheets, then rolled it over a 1/4 inch dowel, slightly scrunched it in from both sides toward the middle of the dowel, then cut it into small bars. Both ways are great! Thanks Land-o-Lakes.
