1 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 large Land O Lakes® Eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
4 medium (4 cups) apples, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter, melted
Heat oven to 350°F. Butter 10-inch springform pan or spray with no-stick cooking spray; set aside.
Combine 1 cup butter and 1 cup sugar in bowl; beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy and light in color. Add 1 egg at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla and almond extract; continue beating until well mixed.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in bowl. Add flour mixture alternately with milk to butter mixture, beating well after each addition. Spread batter into prepared pan.
Combine apple slices and lemon juice in medium bowl; toss lightly. Arrange 3 cups apple slices over batter in a circle around edge of pan. Arrange remaining 1 cup apple slices in center of cake.
Combine 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in bowl; sprinkle mixture over apple slices. Drizzle with melted butter.
Bake 60-75 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes on cooling rack. Loosen sides of cake by running knife around inside edge of pan. Remove sides of pan. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Serve warm with vanilla or cinnamon ice cream or drizzle warm cream over the slices.
