2 cups
finely chopped walnuts
1/4 cup
large Land O Lakes® Eggs
2 tablespoons
all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon
1 (12-ounce) package (2 cups)
semi-sweet real chocolate chips, divided

  1. Heat oven to 375°F. Place butter and brown sugar in medium bowl. Add 1 3/4 cups flour; beat until well mixed (2-3 minutes). (Mixture may be crumbly.) Press mixture onto bottom of greased 13x9-inch baking pan.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 10 minutes.
  3. Spread jam over crust. Combine walnuts and sugar in small bowl; reserve 2 tablespoons for topping. Beat eggs in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy; beat in remaining walnut mixture, 2 tablespoons flour, and vanilla. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips. Pour mixture over crust.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until top is just set. Immediately sprinkle remaining chocolate chips over top. Let stand 5 minutes until chocolate chips are shiny; spread. Sprinkle with reserved walnut mixture. Cool; refrigerate 30 minutes to set chocolate.

This recipie was terrible. I would not recommend trying these to anyone, we threw them away after just a taste. To start, the recipie fails to tell you to use softened butter, but once you start mixing the crust it is pretty clear that it should have been included. I also found it difficult to make sure we had enough time for the 45 minute wait time between the first half of the recipie and the second half. When we finally finsihed the cookies, the presentation was lacking and they basically fell apart. As for taste, they tasted like melted chocolate chips and not much more. It seemed like there wasnt enough substance to the cookie/bar to support the overwhelming amount of chocolate. If you are looking for a real crowd pleaser, try the old world rasberry bars.
