Chocolate Toffee Brunch Biscuits

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup sugar

2 tablespoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup cold Land O Lakes® Butter

3/4 cup milk

1/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

 

1/4 cup almond or English toffee bits

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter melted

1 tablespoon sugar

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 375°F.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder and baking soda in bowl; cut in 1/2 cup butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk just until flour is moistened. Gently stir in chocolate chips and toffee bits.

  3. STEP 3

    Drop about 1/4 cup batter for each biscuit, 1 inch apart, onto large ungreased baking sheet. Brush tops with melted butter. Sprinkle biscuits evenly with 1 tablespoon sugar. Bake 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm.

I have made these twice now and my whole family loves them. I think they are just the right amount of sweet and are very light and fluffy, and not dry at all. They are also very easy to make. I just put the dry ingredients in my mixer bowl, cut in the butter with my flat beater, and with the beater still going, add the chips and bits and then slowly add the milk until just moistened.
