1 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

2/3 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/3 cup cornstarch

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa

2/3 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons red and/or green decorator sugar, if desired

How to make

  1. STEP 1

Combine butter, sugar and vanilla in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add flour, cornstarch and cocoa; beat at low speed until well mixed. Cover; refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.

  2. STEP 2

    Heat oven to 350°F.

  3. STEP 3

Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10-13 minutes or until edges are set. Let stand 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.

  4. STEP 4

Combine powdered sugar and decorator sugars, if desired, in bowl. Roll warm cookies in sugar mixture and again when cooled.

Tip #1

Roll cookies in mixture of powdered sugar and cocoa instead of powdered sugar and decorator sugars.

Tried these awhile ago and remembered that they were a "HIT" with family and friends. I rolled in powdered sugar and cocoa instead of sugars.

The cookies taste very good. Somewhat hard to dip in the powdered sugar when warm. But they are great the second day.
