These crispy, thin cookies have a double burst of cinnamon flavor from both the quick bread mix and the cinnamon chips.

From the Test Kitchens... In this situation you do need to use the small amount of vegetable shortening with the cinnamon chips in the drizzle. Shortening is used because it helps to make the mixture like a thin harder coating. It is important that this mixture not be too hot to handle. It does work well to use the plastic food bag to decorate the cookies.

LOVE THE COOKIES......CANNOT MASTER THE ICING WHEN THEY COOL. I READ SOMEWHERE NOT TO USE BUTTER FOR THE GLAZE.......ALL THE RECIPE SAYS IS SHORTENING SO IS BUTTER OK OR NOT? I PUT THE BUTTER GLAZE THRU THE PASTRY TUBE AND BECAUSE IT WAS HOT IT POURED OUT THE BOTTOM OF TUBE, UGH! PLS ADVISE IF BUTTER OR SDOMETHING LIKE CRISCO IS REQUIRED.......THANKS

Cookies are great, however the 'icing' didn't turn out well for me! I put the 1/2 cup cinnamon morsels in a cup, the butter and microwaved.......came out all goopey and lumpy and nothing I could 'drizzle' the cookies with. So, we are eating them without that and yes, they are crisp and good.
