Ingredients

2 (6-ounce) cans
chunk tuna in water, drained
1/2 cup
mayonnaise
1 tablespoon
chopped onion
1 tablespoon
sweet pickle relish
8 (3/4-ounce) slices
Land O Lakes® Deli American
8 slices
whole wheat bread

Directions

  1. Place tuna in bowl; flake tuna with fork. Stir in 2 tablespoonsmayonnaise, onion and pickle relish.
  2. Spread1 sideof each bread slice evenly with 2 teaspoonsmayonnaise.
  3. Layer 1 slice bread, mayonnaise-side up onto cutting board. Top with 1 slice cheese. Place 1/4 cup tuna mixture onto cheese; spread evenly to cover. Place 1 slice cheese over tuna mixture; top with 1 slice bread, mayonnaise-side down.

I always sprinkle a bit of dill weed, garlic powder and onion powder into the mixture. We usually only have shredded cheese in the fridge, so I'll mix it up with everything else in the bowl before putting on the bread. And toasting the bread is a must - either in a skillet or in the oven. It's worth the effort!
