This basic chocolate cake has a butterscotch and nut topping for extra pizzazz.

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
1 cup water
3 large Land O Lakes® Eggs
3 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup butterscotch-flavored baking chips
*Substitute peanut butter-flavored baking chips.
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9-inch baking pan; set aside.
Combine all ingredients except butterscotch chips and walnuts in bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until all ingredients are moistened. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
Spread batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle with walnuts. Bake 30-35 minutes or until top springs back when touched lightly in center. Immediately sprinkle with butterscotch chips.
