Ingredients

3/4 cup
low sodium chicken broth
4 medium (2 cups)
carrots, cut into 1/4-inch diagonal slices
2 cups
broccoli florets
1 teaspoon
Land O Lakes® Butter
1 rib (1/2 cup)
celery, cut into 1/2-inch diagonal slices
1 tablespoon
sesame seeds
1 teaspoon
chopped fresh thyme leaves*
 
*Substitute 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves.

Directions

  1. Bring chicken broth to a full boil in 2-quart saucepan; add carrots. Cover; cook over medium heat 3 minutes. Add broccoli. Cover; continue cooking until vegetables are crisply tender (3 to 5 minutes). Drain.
  2. Meanwhile, melt butter in 10-inch skillet until sizzling; add celery and sesame seed. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until celery is softened and seed is toasted (2 to 4 minutes). Stir in carrots, broccoli and thyme.

Really delicious side dish for Chinese Chicken. Only alteration I made was cooking carrots for three minutes and steaming broccoli on top of carrots. I prefer my vegetables quite crunchy.
