Ingredients

2 cups frozen shredded hash brown potatoes , thawed

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter, melted

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 pound lean ground beef

8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli American, quartered diagonally

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup frozen mixed vegetables

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 400°F.

  2. STEP 2

Combine potatoes, melted butter and pepper in bowl. Press potato mixture onto bottom and up sides of buttered glass 9-inch pie pan. Bake 15 minutes.

  3. STEP 3

Cook ground beef in 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, 5-7 minutes or until beef is browned; drain off fat.

  4. STEP 4

Reserve 8 cheese quarters. Add remaining cheese quarters, garlic powder and pepper to ground beef in skillet; stir to combine. Reduce heat to medium. Cook stirring frequently, until cheese is melted. Stir vegetables into hamburger mixture. Pour into partially baked potato crust.

  5. STEP 5

Bake 20-25 minutes or until mixture is bubbly. Layer reserved cheese quarters over pie; let stand 1 minute. To serve, cut into wedges.

Tip #1

- No need to thaw the frozen vegetables, simply stir them in. If your family is not a fan of mixed vegetables, substitute 1 cup of frozen corn, carrots, greens beans or another vegetable combination of your liking.

Tip #2

- To make ahead, prepare crust as directed above. Do not bake. Cover; refrigerate. Cook ground beef; drain fat. Cover; refrigerate. To prepare, heat oven to 400°F. Bake crust as directed above. Place ground beef into 10-inch skillet; cook over medium heat until heated through. Reserve 8 cheese quarters. Continue as directed above.
