A hint of curry and honey flavors the apples in this simple but elegant appetizer.

1 (16-ounce) loaf French baguette bread
1 tablespoon Land O Lakes® Butter
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 large (about 2 cups) tart red apple, thinly sliced
1/4 cup finely chopped dates
1 tablespoon sliced green onion
2 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Swiss Cheese each cut into 6 pieces
Heat oven to 450°F.
Slice baguette diagonally into 12 (1/2-inch) rounds. (Reserve remaining baguette for another use.)
Place baguette rounds onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake, turning once, 3-4 minutes or until toasted. Set aside.
Combine butter, honey, curry powder and salt in 10-inch skillet. Cook over medium heat 1-2 minutes or until mixture starts to bubble; add apple slices. Continue cooking 3-5 minutes or until apple slices are softened. Remove from heat; stir in dates and 1 tablespoon green onion.
Divide apple mixture among bread slices. Top each with 1 piece cheese. Continue baking 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
