Learn How it Works...
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 (8-ounce) package chopped dates
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup quick-cooking oats
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
STEP 1
Heat oven to 400°F. Grease 8-inch square baking pan; set aside.
STEP 2
Combine evaporated milk, dates, sugar and vanilla in medium saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, 8-10 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat.
STEP 3
Beat brown sugar and butter on medium speed in large bowl until creamy. Add flour, oats, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon; beat at low speed until well mixed.
STEP 4
Press half of crust mixture onto bottom of prepared pan with floured fingers. Spread date filling over crust. Top with remaining crust mixture.
STEP 5
Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden. Serve warm.
