Ingredients

1/4 cup
Land O Lakes® Butter
4 (1-Ounce) squares
unsweetened baking chocolate
2 cups
all-purpose flour
2 cups
sugar
4
large Land O Lakes® Eggs
2 teaspoons
baking powder
1/2 teaspoon
salt
1/2 cup
chopped walnuts or pecans
Powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Melt butter and chocolate in 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth (8 to 10 minutes). Cool completely (30 minutes).
  2. Combine melted chocolate mixture, 1 cup flour, sugar, eggs, baking powder and salt in large mixer bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed (2 to 3 minutes). Stir in remaining flour and nuts by hand. Cover; refrigerate (2 hours).
  3. Heat oven to 300°F. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in powdered sugar. Place 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until set.

I made these last year for a friend in the nursing home. She ate everyone of them while I was visiting her. She said they were moist and so chewy. They are beautiful in a tin or cookie jar.
