1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 1/2 cups Land O Lakes® Fat Free Half & Half
8 ounces Land O Lakes® Sharp Cheddar American Blend, cut into strips
STEP 1
Place butter in 2-quart bowl. Microwave 30-60 seconds or until melted.
STEP 2
Stir in flour and mustard with whisk or fork. Add half & half; mix until smooth. Microwave 2 minutes. Add cheese. Microwave, stirring after every minute, 4-5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
STEP 3
Spoon warm sauce over vegetables, potatoes or omelets.
Variations: Omit mustard. Stir in one of the following: -1 teaspoon chili powder -1 (2-ounce) jar chopped pimentos, drained -1 (4-ounce) can mushrooms, drained -4 slices (1/4 cup) crisply cooked bacon, crumbled
