El Paso Tortilla Wheels

Prepare this lightly-spiced appetizer ahead of time and then cut the roll into slices at serving time.

2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

1/4 cup sliced green or ripe olives

1 cup sour cream

1 (4-ounce) can chopped mild green chiles

3 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

10 (7- to 8-inch) flour tortillas

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Combine all ingredients except tortillas in bowl.

  2. STEP 2

    Spread 1/4 cupcheese mixture onto 1 tortilla. Roll up jelly-roll style; wrap in plastic food wrap. Repeat with remaining cheese mixture and tortillas. Refrigerate at least 8 hours or overnight.

  3. STEP 3

    Slice off ends of tortillas; discard. Slice each tortilla roll into 6 pieces.

This is a big hit with young, old and all ages. I serve a bowl of sour cream and also a bowl of salsa with this recipe and it is a big hit everytime I fix it. Never have any left overs. Easy to make, easy to serve and delicious!
