Gourmet Herbed Butter

Serve this compound butter with your favorite breads or use it to top pasta, chicken, meats and veggies!

1 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

2 tablespoons dry white wine or sherry

1 tablespoon finely chopped shallots

1/2 teaspoon finely chopped fresh garlic

2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley  

3/4 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves  


 *Substitute 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley. **Substitute 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves.

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Beat butter in bowl at medium speed until creamy. Add all remaining ingredients; beat at low speed until well mixed.

  2. STEP 2

    Cover; refrigerate at least 1 hour to enhance flavors. Store in airtight container up to 2 weeks.

I make this every year for nearly every holiday - Easter, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas. If I arrive at the family gatherings without it, I think my family would send me home to make it and arrive again. :) This has been a staple at our gatherings for years! We put it in everything - mashed potatoes, on top of carrots, and spread on ciabatta bread. JUST awesome and so easy to make...

I made this butter plus several others to serve with French bread at a pot luck supper. Everyone loved trying the different flavors, but this one was hands down their favorite. Great recipe and easy to make.
