Ingredients

2 cups
frozen green peas
1/4 cup
water
1 tablespoon
Land O Lakes® Fresh Buttery Taste® Spread
Salt
Pepper

Directions

  1. Place peas in 2-quart saucepan; add water. Cook over high heat until water boils (3-4 minutes). Reduce heat to medium. Cover; cook until heated through (2-3 minutes). Drain.
  2. Top with Fresh Buttery Taste® Spread. Salt and pepper to taste.
  3. VARIATIONS:
  4. Almond Studded Peas: Cook peas as directed above. Drain. Meanwhile, melt 2 tablespoons Fresh Buttery Taste® Spread in 2-quart saucepan; add 1/4 cup chopped onion. Cook over medium heat until onion is crisply tender (2-3 minutes). Add cooked peas, 2 tablespoons sliced almonds and 1/2 teaspoon salt; toss to coat peas. Cook until heated through (1-2 minutes). Top with 1 tablespoon Fresh Buttery Taste® Spread.
  5. Herbed Peas: Cook peas as directed above. Drain. Meanwhile, melt 2 tablespoons Fresh Buttery Taste® Spread in 2-quart saucepan; add 1/4 cup chopped onion. Cook over medium heat until onion is crisply tender (2-3 minutes). Add cooked peas, 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves and 1/2 teaspoon salt; toss to coat peas. Top with 1 tablespoon Fresh Buttery Taste® Spread.
  6. Dilly Peas: Cook peas as directed above. Drain. Add 3 tablespoons Fresh Buttery Taste® Spread, 1 teaspoon dried dill weed and 1/2 teaspoon salt; toss to coat peas.
