Grandma's Cream Gravy

Smooth creamy gravy, just like Grandma makes! Perfect for turkey, chicken, beef, or pork, this gravy recipe is the perfect addition to the holiday dinner table.

Ingredients

1/4 cup water

Land O Lakes® Half & Half

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Salt

Pepper

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Deglaze pan by stirring water into pan with drippings. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring and scraping pan 2-3 minutes. Strain pan juices into 2-cup measure; remove excess fat, reserving 2 tablespoons fat. Add enough half & half to equal 2 cups liquid; set aside.

  2. STEP 2

    Cook reserved 2 tablespoons fat in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat until bubbly. Whisk in flour. Continue cooking, whisking constantly, 1 minute. Stir in pan juice mixture. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, 3-5 minutes or until thickened. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Variation:
Turkey Gravy: Deglaze pan as directed above. Strain pan juices into 8-cup measure; remove excess fat, reserving 3 tablespoons fat. Add enough chicken broth or water to equal 3 cups liquid. Combine 3 cups pan juice mixture and reserved fat in 3-quart saucepan. Cook as directed above. To thicken, combine 1/2 cup water and 1/4 cup flour. Add to saucepan and continue cooking, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil; boil 1 minute. Season to taste.
