Ingredients

1/4 cup
Land O Lakes® Butter
2 tablespoons
chopped shallots or onion
1/2 teaspoon
finely chopped fresh garlic
4 (1/2-inch) slices
round sourdough bread
1/4 cup
torn fresh basil leaves
2 medium
Roma tomatoes, each cut into 6 slices
2 teaspoons
red wine vinegar

Directions

  1. Heat gas grill on medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.
  2. Melt butter in 1-quart saucepan until sizzling; stir in shallots and garlic. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 1-2 minutes or until shallots are tender.
  3. Place bread slices onto grill. Grill 4-6 minutes or until toasted. Turn; brush each bread slice with butter mixture. Sprinkle with basil; top each bread slice with 3 tomato slices. Sprinkle each tomato-topped bread slice with 1/2 teaspoon vinegar.
  4. Continue grilling 2-3 minutes or until bread is lightly browned.
