Decorator sugars and candies, as desired
STEP 1
Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil; set aside.
STEP 2
Combine 3/4 cup butter, brown sugar, molasses and egg in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add all remaining gingerbread ingredients; beat at low speed until well mixed. Cover; refrigerate 1-2 hours or until firm.
STEP 3
Heat oven to 350°F.
STEP 4
Divide dough in half. Pat each half of dough onto prepared cookie sheet to 12x9-inch tree shape with 3x2-inch base. Smooth edges of dough with knife. Bake 12-15 minutes or until no indentation remains when touched. Cool completely.
STEP 5
Combine powdered sugar, 1/3 cup butter and vanilla in bowl. Beat at low speed, gradually adding enough milk, for desired spreading consistency. Stir in food color. Frost cooled trees; decorate as desired.
