Kids will love decorating these Halloween cupcakes with sliced almonds, candy rings and whole cashews. The cream cheese frosting is extra creamy and complements the coconut cupcakes.

- Butter rum candies with holes are available in bags or rolls. Yellow or orange candies can be substituted for the butter rum.
- The back of a spoon works great to make decorative swirls when frosting cakes and cupcakes.

I made this for my son's October birthday party. They
were a hit. My kids loved to help decorate and the results
were very impressive. I omitted the coconut since I was
serving some picky eaters and the recipe still turned out
great. I can't wait to try it with coconut for myself. I used
butterscotch Lifesavers I had read previous reviews for
the eyes and did not have any problems. The decorating
ideas would work nicely for any cake recipe.
These went over so well with my grandchildren's class parties. Fun to make and they look so great, not too hard to make, just time consuming.
My grandson & I made these last year and they turned out so great my son thought we bought them somewhere. My grandson let him know right quick, "No me and Grandmother made these!" My son was impressed and said if he went into a bakery and saw these he would buy one just because they were so cool looking. This year they are asking for a repeat.
I took these to a Halloween party at work. Rave reviews! I used lifesaver butter rum candies and had no problems with the candies sliding off.
I made these for Halloween last year and they looked great at first. They were easy to make and very cute. However, when I set them out to serve them, as they sat out, the candies (I used Werthers) on top melted and slid off the top. They looked a mess so no one ate them!
Let’s make the most of this fun and decorative holiday with festive Halloween cupcakes - after all, Halloween only comes once a year. The cupcakes in this collection are spooky, batty and some are even smiling, but you’ll forget all your fears once you take the first bite.
