This wonderfully warm beverage is a festive treat at any holiday gathering.

Ingredients

1 cup
sugar
1 cup
firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup
Land O Lakes® Butter
2 cups
vanilla ice cream, softened
1 pint
rum*
12 cups
boiling water
Nutmeg
 
*Substitute 1/4 teaspoon rum extract per serving.

Directions

  1. Combine sugar, brown sugar and butter in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 6-8 minutes or until mixture comes to a boil and sugar is dissolved.
  2. Stir cooked mixture into ice cream in bowl; mix well. Store refrigerated up to 2 weeks.
  3. Fill each mug with 1/4 cup ice cream mixture; add about 1 ouncerum and 3/4 cupboiling water; sprinkle with nutmeg.

Recipe Tips

Mixture can be frozen up to 1 month.
