Horseradish Roast Beef Special

A quick hot sandwich that is a tangy and flavorful combination of roast beef and horseradish-flavored spread.

Ingredients

Spread

1/2 cup sour cream

1 tablespoon country-style Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon prepared horseradish

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

Sandwich

1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter softened

1/2 teaspoon finely chopped fresh garlic

8 slices sourdough bread

6 (12 slices) ounces deli roast beef

8 slices tomato

12 slices cucumber

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat broiler.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine all horseradish spread ingredients in bowl.

  3. STEP 3

    Stir together butter and garlic in another bowl.

  4. STEP 4

    Spread 1 side of each bread slice with garlic butter. Place onto ungreased baking sheet. Broil 5 to 6 inches from heat, turning once, 3-4 minutes or until bread is toasted.

  5. STEP 5

    Layer 1 slice bread with 3 slices roast beef, 2 slices tomato and 3 slices cucumber. Spoon about 2 tablespoons spread over cucumbers. Top with 1 slice bread.

The horsey/dijon/sour cream sauce is a favorite in our house for steaks, sandwiches. This is an excellent way to use up leftover roast or steaks.
