Learn How it Works...
2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter
1 sweet onion, cut in half, sliced
1/2 pound lean ground beef
2 cloves fresh garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 (10- to 14-ounce) round prepared Italian pizza crust
1/2 cup prepared Alfredo pasta sauce
1 small (1/2 cup) red bell pepper, coarsely chopped
4 ounces (1 cup) shredded mozzarella cheese
*Substitute Italian sausage, eliminating Italian seasoning.
Heat oven to 425°F.
Melt butter in skillet until sizzling; add onion. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 20-25 minutes or until onion is browned and caramelized. Remove onion mixture from skillet; set aside.
Place ground beef and garlic into same skillet; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 5-6 minutes or until browned. Drain off fat. Stir in onion mixture, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.
Spread Alfredo sauce over pizza crust. Top with ground beef mixture, bell pepper and mozzarella cheese. Bake 10-12 minutes or until cheese is melted.
- To grill pizza, heat one side of gas grill on medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white. Place coals to one side in charcoal grill. Prepare pizza as directed. Place pizza onto grill opposite coals. Close lid; grill, rotating once 12-15 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted.
- Prepared Alfredo sauce can be found in the pasta sauce section or in refrigerated aisle of the supermarket.
Pizza is as easy to make on the grill as it is in the oven—and the toppings are limited only by your imagination.
