Ingredients

Cake

1 1/4 cups
all-purpose flour
1/2 cup
sugar
1/2 cup
firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons
baking powder
1 teaspoon
ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon
freshly grated lemon zest
1/4 cup
sour cream
1/4 cup
milk
1
large Land O Lakes® Egg
1/4 cup
Land O Lakes® Butter, melted

Glaze

3/4 cup
powdered sugar
1 tablespoon
Land O Lakes® Butter, melted
1 to 2 tablespoons
lemon juice

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, ginger and lemon zest in ungreased 8-inch square baking pan. Set aside.
  3. Whisk sour cream, milk and egg together in bowl.
  4. Make two indentations in flour mixture; pour egg mixture in one and 1/4 cup butter in other. Stir until well mixed.
  5. Bake 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.
  6. Combine powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon butter and enough lemon juice for desired glazing consistency in bowl. Spread glaze over cooled cake.

This is a wonderful recipe! Simple to make but the flavors are amazing!

This cake was delicious, my husband and son loved it also. The fact it was small made it great for and after dinner dessert wihtout a lot leftover.
