Ingredients

2 1/2 cups
all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon
ground ginger
2 teaspoons
baking soda
1/2 teaspoon
salt
1/2 teaspoon
ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon
ground pepper
3/4 cup
Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
1/2 cup
firmly packed brown sugar
6 tablespoons
mild molasses
1
large Land O Lakes® Egg
1/2 cup
turbinado (raw) sugar

Directions

  1. Combine flour, ginger, baking soda, salt, allspice and pepper in bowl; set aside.
  2. Combine butter and brown sugar in another bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Add molasses and egg; continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low; gradually add flour mixture, beating until just combined. Wrap dough in plastic food wrap; freeze until firm (20 minutes).
  3. Heat oven to 350°F.
  4. Place sugar into bowl. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar. Place onto cookie sheets lined with parchment paper. Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.

I was frankly disappointed. They just aren't sweet and buttery enough. Mainly they lack in sweetness. Surprising as this is the first Land O Lakes recipe that I haven't adored.
