3/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter

3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 (8-ounce) package chopped dates

1 ounce semi-sweet baking chocolate

3 cups crisp rice cereal

1 cup chopped walnuts

1 teaspoon vanilla


Powdered sugar

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Combine butter, brown sugar, dates, and chocolate in 3-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 8-10 minutes or until mixture is thickened. Stir in all remaining ingredients except powdered sugar.

  2. STEP 2

    Pour mixture into lightly greased 9-inch square pan. Let stand 2 hours before cutting.

  3. STEP 3

    Cut into 1-inch squares. Roll squares in powdered sugar.

Serve date squares in small (1 5/8-inch) paper or foil cups.
