Ingredients

3/4 cup
Land O Lakes® Butter
3/4 cup
firmly packed brown sugar
1 (8-ounce) package
chopped dates
1 (1-ounce) square
semi-sweet baking chocolate
3 cups
crisp rice cereal
1 cup
chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon
vanilla
 
Powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Combine butter, brown sugar, dates and chocolate in 3-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture is thickened (8 to 10 minutes). Stir in all remaining ingredients except powdered sugar.
  2. Pour mixture into lightly greased 9-inch square pan. Let stand 2 hours before cutting.
  3. Cut into 1-inch squares. Roll squares in powdered sugar.

Recipe Tips

Serve date squares in small (1 5/8-inch) paper or foil cups.
