Crushed, crisp oatmeal cookies are the topping for this "new style" version of an old-fashioned peach dessert.

Ingredients

Topping

1/3 cup
firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup
all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon
ground cinnamon
1/4 cup
cold Land O Lakes® Butter
6 (3/4 cup)
purchased crisp oatmeal cookies*, broken

Filling

4 cups
sliced fresh peaches ornectarines**

Ice Cream

Ice cream, if desired
 
*Substitute 6 crisp chocolate chip cookies (3/4 cup), broken.
**Substitute 2 (15-ounce) cans sliced peaches, drained.

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375°F. 
  2. Combine brown sugar, flour and cinnamon in small bowl; cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cookie pieces.
  3. Place peaches in ungreased 9-inch pie plate; sprinkle topping over fruit. Bake for 16 to 19 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
