Pumpkin apple pie uses ingredients reminiscent of the fall season to make a great combination in this pie.

1/4 cup sugar
2 medium (2 cups) green apples, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 (9-inch) unbaked deep-dish pie shell
1 1/2 cups canned pumpkin
1 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup sugar
2 large Land O Lakes® Eggs, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter, melted
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
5 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter
Heat oven to 375°F.
Place 1/4 cup sugar, apples, 2 teaspoons flour, lemon juice, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon in medium bowl; stir until apples are coated. Pour into pie shell.
Combine pumpkin layer ingredients in bowl; stir until well mixed. Pour over apple mixture. Bake 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, walnuts and 5 tablespoons sugar in medium bowl. Cut in 3 tablespoons butter until crumbly.
Remove pie from oven; sprinkle with topping. Continue baking 20 minutes or until custard is set. Cool completely.

I don't like pumpkin pie much but this one I have no problem with. Even I can eat it! :-)
This pie tastes wonderful!! Everyone loved it. The consistency of the custard is perfect and goes so well with the crunch of the topping. It is so easy and fast to prepare - a real winner! I served with whipped cream. Next time I'll try ala mode as suggested in another review.
