Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds
fresh green beans*, trimmed
3 tablespoons
Land O Lakes® Butter with Canola Oil
1/4 teaspoon
pepper
1/4 cup (2 ounces)
coarsely chopped salted pistachios
 
*Substitute 3 (10-ounce) packages frozen green beans. Cook according to package directions.

Directions

  1. Place green beans in 3-quart saucepan; add enough water to cover. Cook over medium-high heat until water comes to a full boil. Reduce heat to medium. Cook 10-15 minutes or until green beans are crisply tender. Drain.
  2. Return beans to pan; add 2 tablespoons butter with canola oil and pepper. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, 1 minute or until melted. Sprinkle with pistachios; top with remaining butter with canola oil.

A simple, delicious twist on the 'green bean side dish.' The pistachios add a savory crunch to the dish, as well as a tremendous taste combo with the beans. I would have never paired the two. The second timeI prepared them, I sprinkled a bit of sweet paprika over the beans and it added another flavor layer that worked well!
