Total Time

3 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter

6 cups cubed 3/4-inch French bread slices

1 medium (1 cup) green bell pepper, sliced

1 medium onion, sliced

1 cup shredded cooked roast beef

12 (3/4-ounce) sliced Land O Lakes® Sharp Cheddar American Blend, coarsely chopped

1 cup milk

4 large Land O Lakes® Eggs

2 tablespoons steak sauce

How to make

  1. STEP 1

Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease 2-quart baking dish; set aside.

  2. STEP 2

Melt 2 tablespoons butter in bowl in microwave. Place bread cubes into another bowl. Pour melted butter over bread cubes; toss to coat. Spread in even layer on baking sheet. Bake, turning cubes halfway through, 20 minutes or until cubes are crisp and beginning to brown.

  3. STEP 3

Melt 1 tablespoon butter in 10-inch skillet until sizzling; add green pepper and onion. Cook 5-7 minutes over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until crisply tender.

  4. STEP 4

Place bread cubes, beef, green pepper and onion mixture and cheese in bowl; mix until well combined. Transfer to prepared baking dish.

  5. STEP 5

Whisk together all remaining ingredients in another bowl. Pour over ingredients in baking dish. Cover with nonstick aluminum foil. Bake 40 minutes. Remove foil; bake 10-15 minutes more or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
