Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 to 1 teaspoon cracked or coarse ground pepper

1/2 cup cold Land O Lakes® Butter cut into chunks

1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

3/4 cup Land O Lakes® Half & Half

2 tablespoons stone ground mustard

How to make

  1. STEP 1

Heat oven to 425°F. Grease or line large baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.

  2. STEP 2

Combine flour, baking powder, onion powder and pepper in bowl; mix well. Cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir cheese and chives into flour mixture until well mixed.

  3. STEP 3

Combine half & half and mustard in another bowl; beat with whisk. Stir into flour mixture with fork just until moistened.

  4. STEP 4

Spoon dough onto well-floured surface; turn to coat with flour. Knead 5 or 6 times. Pat out to 10x5-inch rectangle. Cut lengthwise in half with knife; cut crosswise into 4 equal parts to make 8 square biscuits. Place biscuits, 1 inch apart, onto prepared baking sheet.

  5. STEP 5

Bake 10-13 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
