Learn How it Works...
1 (13.8-ounce) package refrigerated pizza crust dough
8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Italian Blend, cut into quarters
1/2 cup pizza sauce
32 slices pepperoni
1/2 cup sausage crumbles
1 large Land O Lakes® Egg, slightly beaten
Pizza sauce, if desired
STEP 1
Heat oven to 450°F.
STEP 2
Press dough into 15x10-inch rectangle. Cut into 8 (3 3/4x2 1/2-inch) rectangles.
STEP 3
Place 2 quarters cheese onto half of each piece of dough 1/2-inch from edge. Top with 1 tablespoon pizza sauce, 4 slices pepperoni, 1 tablespoon sausage crumbles and 2 quarters cheese. Brush edges of dough with egg. Fold dough over filling, aligning edges. Press edges with fork to seal.
STEP 4
Place onto greased baking sheet. Brush tops with egg. Bake 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
STEP 5
Serve with additional pizza sauce, if desired.
- Prepare as directed above; cool. Wrap each in plastic food wrap; place into large resealable freezer bag. Freeze up to 2 months. To reheat, place 1 frozen hand pie onto microwave-safe plate; microwave 45-60 seconds or until heated through.
- For a meatball hand pie, substitute 12 meatballs cut into quarters (about 6 ounces). Make each hand pie as directed above substituting 6 pieces meatball for pepperoni and sausage.
