Seasoned Butter
1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Unsalted Butter, softened
4 teaspoons chopped shallots
4 teaspoons chopped fresh chives
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Steak
2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Unsalted Butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 (3/4-inch thick) (about 2 pounds) sirloin steaks
Chopped fresh chives, if desired
*Substitute 4 teaspoons chopped green onions.
STEP 1
Combine all seasoned butter ingredients in small bowl; mix well. Shape butter mixture into 4x1-inch log. Wrap tightly in plastic food wrap. Refrigerate 2 hours or overnight until firm.
STEP 2
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in 12-inch skillet until sizzling; stir in olive oil. Add steaks; cook over medium-high heat, turning once, 17-20 minutes or until browned.
STEP 3
To serve, cut steaks into serving size pieces. Cut seasoned butter log into 1/4-inch slices. Place 2 to 3 slices onto center of each steak piece. Garnish with additional chopped fresh chives, if desired.
The seasoned butter can also be tossed with pasta or steamed vegetables.
